UWABC MAKING GLOBAL COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS!

On Feb. 16, Alyson, Laura, and Josie had the opportunity to meet with a delegation from Indonesia to discuss how the UWABC promote's women's interests in politics, government, business and community as well as advocating for women's rights in a traditional and conservative society. The delegation consisted of Ms. Evi Sofia Inayati who is from Central Java and involved in Islamic women’s rights and Mr. Taufik Arbain who is a university scholar from Kalimantan (Borneo). The conversation proved to be very exciting for both sides and ended on a very gratifying note as both delegates proclaimed they were energized by the discussion and had new thoughts and plans to take back and implement in their country.  The delegation was sponsored by Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy and was supported by the U.S. State Department.
